We’re fun people, we love to cook, and we’re all about good vibes! There’s no combo more fun, fascinating, and delicious than our mix of Hernan’s expert Argentinian grill skills and Diana’s Pennsylvania Dutch baking background stirred together with their years of life lessons in Costa Rica. We know you’re going to love our food because we love our food! We know you’re going to enjoy sharing your kitchen with us because we enjoy sharing the kitchen with each other.
¨Surfing in the mornings and grilling in the evenings, I'm living my best life¨
Hernan was born in Mar del Plata, Arentina, where fire-grilled steaks are what’s for dinner. He grew up skipping school to go surfing, and it’s the surf that eventually landed him here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Hernan started calling Tamarindo home in 2019. His favorite things, besides fying up the world’s most amazing empanadas, are surfing, fishing, and making bonfires on the beach. And if you put on some reggae tunes, he won’t be able to reisit dancing around the kitchen.
¨I'm the happiest when I'm practicing my own version of alchemy, making up combinations of words, of ingredients, of colors...¨
Diana comes from the heart of Amish country in Lancaster Pennsylvania, so one can only guess if her talent for making desserts is a result of nature or nurture.. She arrived in Costa Rica in the early 1990’s and essentially never left. When Diana is not concocting something sinfully sweet, you’ll probably find her steaming down the line on her longboard or zooming across town on her bicycle. She loves cats, true stories, and early mornings.
